In our first series on thought leadership and research, the Microfinance Club of New York will be hosting The Vaid Group and Faces of Giving to hear about their ground-breaking project engaging and networking high net worth donors of color. The project includes a landscape analysis which examines the giving patterns and priorities of high net worth people of color and finds that that while these donors are generous and philanthropically engaged, they are invisible to mainstream philanthropy and largely not even known to each other. The project team will also share initial findings from interviews with dozens of high net worth donors of color, leaders of existing donor networks and lessons from previous attempts to organize donors of color.
Please join us to learn about how the project engages with high net worth donors of color about their philanthropy and about the team’s recommendations, including the potential development of a network of high net worth donors of color interested in racial and social justice funding. The project brings to light this community’s critical experiences, resources and talents at a time when it is most important to do so.
